Ayodhya Dispute: Supreme Court postponed the hearing date till January
New Delhi: The trial of the Ayodhya case hanging over the years took place in the Supreme Court today and once again the apex court deferred the matter till January. The case was challenged in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Allahabad High Court in Ayodhya in 2010, eight years ago in the judgment on the ownership of land.
What is the court decision?
The bench of three judges, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, in the Supreme Court on Ayodhya dispute, deferred the matter till January. Today, as soon as Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi appeared before the bench, the Chief Justice said that the matter should be brought before the appropriate bench in January. After today's remarks of the Supreme Court it became clear that the day-to-day hearings will take more time now.
The date of regular hearing will now be decided in January after the Supreme Court has upheld the Ayodhya ground dispute till January. Although it is not decided whether this bench will hear or the new bench will be formed and whether the bench will decide further proceedings there.

Land dispute in Ayodhya has been going on for seventy years, the Ayodhya dispute has been a major issue of tension between both the Hindu and Muslim community. After the dismantling of the disputed structure in Ayodhya, there was a criminal case against the owner of the land. Eight years ago the Allahabad High Court gave a historic verdict The High Court decides to distribute 2.77 acres of disputed land equally in three parts.
The first part of Ram Murti was found by Ram Lala Vishajaman. The second part of Ram Chabutra and Sita kitchen was found in the Nirmohi Akhara. The third part of the land was decided to give Sunni Waqf board. The Hindu and Muslim parties challenged the High Court's decision in the Supreme Court. The three sides have challenged their claim to the entire disputed land.
