In India there are 29 states. The country's election, which are held annually in some different state, after any state, government completes its five year tenure.
In 2016, assembly elections were held in state Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
In 2017, assembly elections were held in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab and Manipur. Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh also had assembly elections in November 2017 and December 2017, respectively. In 2018, assembly election are being held in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan and Tripura.
The Lok Sabha assembly elections took place in 2014, where the NDA government came into power and Narendra Modi became prime minister of India.
The next Lok Sabha assembly elections shall take place in 2019, and the NDA, the UPA and other parties have already started preparing for them. The Election Commission of India is ready for the first election of 2018 which was in the month of November in Mizoram and next in Telangana on 7th, December.
Telangana is ready for the first independent election in 2018. Telangana is the new state which was made in 2018 for the part of Hyderabad was merged with the Andhra state.The Telangana is constituencies of 119 no. of seats. Currently Telangana is ruled by caretakers K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) who is the chief minister of Telangana, also the president of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Which party is going to win the election is big suspence. Head on fight between the both opposition parties.
