Delhi, former chief minister Madan Lal Khurana died at the age of 84.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana, who was also the BJP's leader, passed away late on Saturday night. He was about 85 years old and he was ill for several days. Madan Lal Khurana is also the former Chief Minister of Delhi, besides the former Union Minister, besides the Governor of Rajasthan.
Madan Lal Khurana was the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1993 to 1996 and was made the Union Minister in the Vajpayee Government. Madan Lal Khurana, who came to BJP from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, was made the governor of Rajasthan in the last round of the Vajpayee government in 2004.
Khurana, who started his political career in student politics, was elected General Secretary of Allahabad Student Union. At the age of his youth, he joined the Sangh.
Madan Lal Khurana was born on 15 October 1936 in Lyallpur, a small town in Punjab. Following partition,Lyallpur went to Pakistan's part and the name of the city was changed to Faisalabad. Khurana left his home in Lyallpur, Pakistan, about 12 years old and came to Delhi and settled here.
